Glass was already used by the ancient Egyptians to create ornaments, but it was the Romans who used it to create containers and mosaics. But craftsmen didn't start painting glass with colored pigments until the Middle Ages.

Painted glass was traditionally used in the decoration of windows in European cathedrals.

This art of painting on glass has come a long way since its inception but today we continue to develop this ancient practice in a traditional way and sometimes apply a modern twist.
